      The church is in an incredible season of change, and I believe we are all sensing those changes in us and around us. I can hear the Lord saying to us, “What you seed will begin to produce great fruit.” There is a grace for our offerings to multiply—thirtyfold to a hundredfold—if we are obedient with what we have been given to steward. We can gain victory through giving in order to break the curse of robbing God in our generational bloodline. This is a time to bud! Our giving returns in multiplied form. Everything that we have seeded we can see multiply, blossom, and bud! Proverbs 11:24 says, “There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.”

     One cycle that I feel we must break is linked to the spirit of poverty. In a materialistic society, this spirit tends to blind us from seeing the will of God. We must declare victory over the spirit of poverty! This spirit has violated God’s perfect order and produced instability in many individuals. I feel that the Lord is saying that we need to take a violent and passionate stand on behalf of the body of Christ concerning this spirit—that we must press through difficulties and storms to force an atmospheric change.

     Poverty creates an atmosphere. This spirit encircles you or your sphere of authority to create lack. No matter how much this spirit attempts to find a foothold in your life, this atmosphere can be invaded with the atmosphere of blessing and glory from heaven. We can see His glory in our lives. Noah found favor in His eyes. The heavens and earth realigned during his day. We can find favor, and heaven can come into our atmosphere and defeat poverty. Glory and wealth are synonymous.

     The body of Christ needs to see restoration in our provision! Restoration is always linked with multiplication. Debt and past financial defeats in our lives need to reverse. A spirit of poverty that has held our generational bloodlines in captivity, keeping us from the fullness of the prosperity that God has for us, must be broken. The Lord is breaking begging off His people. He is making us a people of faith. He will change the identity of His people from beggars to kings! Ask Him to reveal poverty now. See how poverty works in your life.

     In Joseph’s life, in Genesis 45:11, we find that God said, “There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine.” Many individuals are afraid of leaving the familiar to receive their provision for the future. The famine in Canaan created a move to Egypt for all of God’s covenant people. Egypt was not the promise, but was the necessary place of provision for a season.
